The Segovia-based company presented six awards to Entrepinos Productions and three special recognitions.
Agropecuaria Entrepinos, a company within the Copese Food Group responsible for managing all of the holding company’s farms, held the second edition of the Copese Top Porc Awards last Friday, June 19. The main purpose of these awards is to recognize the daily effort, perseverance, and high technical performance of the staff working at the group’s farms, which numbers more than 80 people. The awards ceremony took place at the “El Gallinero” Training Center in Coca (Segovia) and received valuable support from key strategic partners in the sector, including collaborating companies: Aviporc, ADA (Animal Data Analytics), and Uvepharma. In the White Breed Gestation category, which recognizes the best farrowing rate, the Cotes farm and the Marazoleja farm were nominated. The latter was crowned the winner after achieving a farrowing rate of 90.6%. Meanwhile, in the White Pig Farrowing category, which evaluates the highest number of weaned piglets per farrowing, both farms competed again as nominees; in this case, the Cotes farm emerged victorious thanks to a record of 11.17 weaned piglets per litter. In the Iberian Pig Breeding category, which recognizes the best farrowing rate, the nominees were the Los Eriales farm and the Olombrada farm. Los Eriales took home the award with a rate of 80.5%. Both farms were nominated again in the Iberian Pig Farrowings category—which focuses on the number of weaned piglets per farrowing—where Los Eriales once again came out on top, recording a productivity of 6.61 piglets per litter. Finally, in the Fattening category, two separate awards were presented. In the category for Best Feed Conversion Ratio, the nominees were Los Caños Farm and El Olmo Farm, with Los Caños Farm taking home the award with a feed conversion ratio of 3.006. In the category recognizing the best mortality rate, El Olmo Farm and Hornillos Farm were nominated, with El Olmo Farm emerging as the winner after recording an average mortality rate of 5.79% across all rearing batches. Finally, three special awards were presented: the award for Best Cost per White Piglet Sold went to the Carrascal farm; the award for Best Cost per Iberian Piglet Sold was granted to the Los Eriales farm; and, finally, the award for Best Cost per Finished Pig Sold was presented to the Matapozuelos farm.
